Nikau Wairarapa Fund
The Nikau Wairarapa Fund was established to provide a philanthropic vehicle for those who are passionate about the Wairarapa area and want to give to local charities in perpetuity.
It is based on the already successful Nikau Kapiti Fund and has its own committee made up of local residents who can advise the Foundation on local issues and needs.

Featherston’s History Remembered
Featherston Camp Sculpture Trust is fundraising to build a nationally significant sculpture to remember the Featherston Military Training Camp and its historic relationship with the town.
Featherston Military Training Camp was active between 1915 and 1926. During this time the camp hosted over 60,000 troops who subsequently served overseas in WW1. The camp operated with the objective to turn ‘raw recruits’ into real soldiers: with signallers, artillery and machine-gun specialists all training there.
Our Wairarapa Fund is based on the already successful Nikau Kāpiti Fund and has its own committee made up of local residents who can advise the Foundation on local issues and needs. Committee members include:
- Lucy McLaren (Chair)
- Peter McNeur
- Bevan Morland
- Bob Francis
- Barbara Durbin
